Administration

I am very excited to be back at Heritage Middle School where I taught for three years. I started my education career at W.A. Young Elementary working in EC, before moving to Heritage Middle School (Health / PE) in February of 2012 until June of 2015. I then moved to Freedom High School for two years, teaching health/pe and coaching football, girls basketball (2016 State Champions) and lacrosse. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in 2011, and Masters in School Administration from Gardner Webb in 2015. Fun Fact- I have a twin sister and a 3 legged dog named Sully. My wife Dedra, and I are expecting our first child in September(it’s a girl-Kenna). Parents please let me know if I can help you in anyway. My door is always open.

I am excited to begin my journey as an Eagle. I am a Burke County native and I graduated from Freedom High School. I went to UNC-Charlotte for my undergrad and then taught 8th grade in the Rowan Salisbury School System. I had the privilege to coach championship-winning basketball and soccer teams during my time at RSS. I obtained my Master of School Administration, also from UNC-Charlotte, as a North Carolina Principal Fellow. My husband and I recently moved back to Burke County and we are looking forward to raising our son, Lawson, in the same town where I grew up. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. Go Eagles!
